Assessment of the Impacts of Congestion at San Pedro Bay Ports on Market Share and Future Utilization of Atlantic and Gulf Coast U.S. Ports
The purpose of this research report is to document the growth in container volume at the San Pedro Bay ports of Los Angles and Long Beach, particularly during the COVID-19 Pandemic, assess the impacts of this growth on congestion throughout the logistics supply chain, and to assess the ability of the U.S. Atlantic and Gulf Coast ports and supporting logistics’ supply chain to handle increasing volume of diverted containers activity from the San Pedro Bay ports should these ports reach capacity and be unable to handle a further growth.
