Painting of Bolsters/Corners

REMINDER

During the course of 2002 Pacific Coast Marine Safety Code Negotiations, it was agreed that effective six (6) months after the ratification of the 2002 agreement,  the Employers  would ensure that,  "all bomb carts shall have the inside surfaces of the container guides painted in a high visibility contrasting color to the base color of the bomb cart".

    During Negotiations the Union also purposed that the Employers paint the bolsters/corners of the existing chassis pool. The Employers did not agree with the Union's Demand.

It was agreed that Pacific Maritime Association would encourage their Members Companies to paint the bolsters/corners of the existing chassis pool a contrasting color.

It was agreed that Pacific Maritime Association would encourage their Members Companies to paint the bolsters/corners of all new chassis whether purchased or leased a contrasting color.

ACTION

During the course of the 2002 negotiations, it was agreed that upon ratification, the Pacific Maritime Association shall encourage their member companies to:

A) Paint the bolsters/corners of the existing chassis pool a contrasting color.

B) Paint the bolsters/corners of all new chassis whether purchased or leased a contrasting color.

Employers should take note of the above Agreement and act accordingly.
